ABOUT KRIS ART GLASS:

My Handcrafted Home Decor & Garden Art tends to be a cross between Mission, Industrial, and Steampunk styles. Since the works are created utilizing various types of glass and reclaimed materials, they are one of a kind pieces and have various textures and colors.

With a background in Graphic Design, my Wall Art is a combination of digital photography and graphics. I tend to use dynamic angles,  and heightened colors to bring out focal points and give my work a stylized look. Subject matter includes local Buffalo, N.Y. imagery, nature, landscape, and digitally art.

ABOUT ME:

I grew up in Buffalo, NY and all of my products are made right in Western New York. I graduated from the State University College at Buffalo, with a Design Degree, majoring in Graphic Design and minoring in Jewelry. Both of my parents are creative and my Dad is a retired art teacher, so I grew up in a very creative environment. At a very early age my Dad would pull me off the couch and teach me about carpentry and power tools.

After taking a community class, with my parents, in stained glass, I found a passion for it and began creating stained glass windows. My love for glass stemmed from a long love of looking through colored glass as a kid, and I fell in love with the “snap” sound that glass makes when working with it. It’s just kind of a cool sound 🙂

Most recently I found a passion for making stained glass candle holders. I love the shadows and colors it creates on the walls and table, when lit. There’s also just something about a candle flame that is so calming and zen 🙂
